Birds of Exile

Tahir Agha is a tradesman in Maraş whose business has gone bad, so he sells everything he owns and takes his wife Hatice and their four children to Istanbul. He plans to open a repair shop, but the city has other plans for him, and sons Selim (Cüneyt Arkın) and Murat (Tanju Gürsu) are pulled into it too. Halit Refiğ's film shows a family weighing what it gave up to get there, and what a city expects in return.
