Sergeant Matthew Eversmann (Josh Hartnett) leads a platoon of Army Rangers into Mogadishu on what should be a quick daylight raid. When a Black Hawk helicopter is shot down, the mission spirals into a desperate fight to reach the crash site and bring the crew home. What emerges is that survival depends less on orders than on the person next to you refusing to leave.
