“They Murdered at Midnight!”

In 1930s Michigan, Frank Taylor (Humphrey Bogart) is a machinist who works hard and expects the foreman's job at the plant to be his. It goes to a Polish-born coworker instead, and Frank is drawn into the Black Legion, a secret society that threatens foreigners with violence. Archie Mayo keeps the focus on Frank's marriage to Ruth (Erin O'Brien-Moore) and his friendship with Ed Jackson (Dick Foran).
