In 1934, Juanita Lane (Dorothy Burgess) returns to San Christopher, the Caribbean island where she grew up, bringing her husband Stephen (Jack Holt), their daughter Nancy (Cora Sue Collins) and his secretary Gail (Fay Wray). The islanders welcome her back and, drawn by the voodoo she half remembers from her past, she lifts her place among them. Roy William Neill sets the family against the island, and Juanita stands among the drummers as a goddess.
