“An American cop in Japan. Their country. Their laws. Their game. His rules.”

A Yakuza killer is in custody in New York, and two cops are told to take him home. Nick Conklin (Michael Douglas) and Charlie Vincent (Andy Garcia) fly him to Japan, where he walks away from them in a country whose rules neither man knows. Ridley Scott puts them in a gang world they only half understand, and Nick has to find out how far he will bend to get the man back.
