“The most ruthless Robinson of all time!”

In 1954, Vincent Canelli (Edward G. Robinson) is a gangster with only minutes left before the electric chair. He breaks out of prison with Peter Manning (Peter Graves), a bank robber and cop killer due to die right after him, and they take hostages to reach Manning's stolen loot. Hugo Fregonese ties the two men together on the run, each needing the other and trusting him not at all.
