“A romance of Scotland Yard”

Alice White (Anny Ondra) goes out with an artist after her boyfriend, Scotland Yard detective Frank Webber (John Longden), cancels another evening for work. The artist invites her up to his apartment, and she follows. Alfred Hitchcock sets it in London in 1929, with Frank's job and Alice's secret now tied to the same case, and every question put to her by the man she loves raises what she stands to lose.
