“She'd never met anyone like him. He's never met anyone... Period.”

Adam (Brendan Fraser) has spent his whole life in a fallout shelter, raised by his survivalist father Calvin (Christopher Walken) and his mother Helen (Sissy Spacek), and now he needs food, supplies and a wife. His parents send him up into Los Angeles, 35 years after a bomb scare sealed them in. Hugh Wilson sets his courtly manners and old-fashioned ideas against a modern city, and Adam, polite to everyone he meets, keeps looking for Eve (Alicia Silverstone).
