Blind Chance
Witek Długosz (Bogusław Linda) is a young medical student who, in the first minute of the film, runs after a train. Krzysztof Kieślowski plays out three versions of that run, each ending in a different place, with different people at the edges of Witek's life, among them Werner (Tadeusz Łomnicki). The film was completed in 1981, held back by Polish authorities for years, and released in 1987, cut, with Witek still running toward a train.
