“Chase something real.”

Greg Wittle (Owen Wilson) has just been divorced and fired, and he badly wants someone to tell him his life isn't the mess it looks like. He gets that from Isabel (Salma Hayek Pinault), a woman living on the streets who insists the polluted, broken world around them is a computer simulation. Mike Cahill follows Greg as he drifts between her certainty and his own doubt, and the question that stays is whether a made-up world can still hold a love that is real.
