Juan (Tyrone Power) has risen from a poor boy to a celebrated bullfighter, and each afternoon in the ring puts him closer to the horns. Rouben Mamoulian shoots the arenas and the parties in saturated Technicolor, with Linda Darnell as Carmen Espinosa waiting at home. When the socialite Dona Sol (Rita Hayworth) takes an interest in him, Juan has to choose between the wife who stays and the woman who draws him away.
