Blood to the Head
In 1956 La Rochelle, François Cardinaud (Jean Gabin) is one of the richest shipowners in the region, and the town resents him for it. Gilles Grangier shot the film on location there and in the Epinay studios, adapting a Georges Simenon novel. When his wife Marthe (Monique Mélinand) leaves the house without warning, the marriage begins to crack, and each of them has to face what was never said in it.
