“They Thought They Were Just Killing Some Weeds. Instead, They Grew A Whole New Kind Of Crop!”

Tom Cole (Charles McCrann), who also directed the film, is a man with a stake in a drug crop that a passing airplane has just sprayed with chemicals. The people who grow it are poisoned by the spray, and they begin to turn into zombie-like mutants. McCrann shoots it in grainy 1980 film stock, and what drives it is the tie between Tom and Polly (Beverly Shapiro), the woman beside him as the growers change.
