“The true story of an American ninja.”

Frank Dux (Jean-Claude Van Damme) wants one thing, a place in the Kumite, an outlawed full-contact tournament in Hong Kong that no one in the Army will let him near. So he goes AWOL, with two officers (Norman Burton, Forest Whitaker) on his trail. Newt Arnold puts a brash fellow American fighter, Ray Jackson (Donald Gibb), beside him, and the two start out as rivals before a hard, noisy friendship takes hold.
