Blow Out

“Murder has a sound all of its own.”

Philadelphia, and Jack Terry (John Travolta) is a sound technician hunting for a few good effects for a low-budget slasher film. One night he sets up his microphone by a river and records a car leaving a bridge, then pulls Sally (Nancy Allen) from the water while the other passenger, a governor who meant to run for president, drowns. Brian De Palma follows Jack as he plays his tape over and over, with a stranger's death on it and his own life now at risk.
