“Sometimes, reality is the strangest fantasy of all.”

Thomas (David Hemmings) is a fashion photographer in 1960s London, successful and bored, his days filled with models, pop music, marijuana and easy sex. One afternoon he photographs a stranger in a park, and Jane (Vanessa Redgrave) wants the roll back. Michelangelo Antonioni follows Thomas as he enlarges the prints, and what the camera caught without his knowing, a death, starts to cost him his certainty.
