The question Donald Miller (Marshall Allman) cannot answer at his new liberal arts college is why his Southern Baptist faith, carried north from Texas, gets him nowhere with anyone on campus. Steve Taylor follows him through a world of Penny (Claire Holt), Lauryn (Tania Raymonde), and a campus Pope (Justin Welborn). By the end of the first semester, Donald sits across from a hobo (Eric Lange), the two of them waiting.
