“THEY BREED. THEY HATCH. THEY KILL. Maybe it's just a phase they're going through.”

Det. Jim Bishop (Steve Railsback) arrives at a hospital to question a man brought in with a pricked finger, a patient who is soon diagnosed with a bacterial infection. Then a worm-like parasite comes out of his mouth, and Dr. Rachel Carson (Gwynyth Walsh) and her staff find the building quarantined with the infection spreading through the ER. William Fruet keeps everyone sealed inside, and Bishop has to stay with them.
