“Forgotten but not gone.”

Lorenz Hart (Ethan Hawke) is a celebrated lyricist whose confidence has gone, and on the night of March 31, 1943, he sits in Sardi's bar while his old partner Richard Rodgers (Andrew Scott) celebrates the opening of "Oklahoma!" elsewhere. Eddie (Bobby Cannavale) tends the bar and Elizabeth Weiland (Margaret Qualley) is on his mind. Richard Linklater keeps the camera in that one room and lets the evening run at the speed of conversation.
