“He saw wrong and tried to right it. He saw suffering and tried to heal it. He saw war and tried to stop it.”
John Casey (Anthony Hopkins), a retired doorman, still spends his days at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles, where he wants nothing more than the company of the old regulars. Emilio Estevez follows him through the hours of June 5, 1968, alongside a busboy, a lounge singer, a beautician and the hotel manager (William H. Macy). John sits at his usual table with Nelson (Harry Belafonte), the two of them settled into the hotel as if it were home.
