Bobby Deerfield
“He had to meet her - to find himself!”
The 1976 Formula One season, on the European circuit, is where Bobby Deerfield (Al Pacino) makes his living, an American driver known well enough that he rarely has to explain himself. Sydney Pollack builds the film around the track and the hotels between races, until Bobby meets Lillian Morelli (Marthe Keller), a Swiss woman who is terminally ill. She pushes at his careful habits, and he slowly stops hiding from her.
