Bodies, Rest & Motion

“Nick is leaving. Beth is staying. Carol is waiting. Sid is painting.”

Nick (Tim Roth) sells for a living in a small Arizona town, and he is sick of the whole arrangement. He leaves his girlfriend Beth (Bridget Fonda) behind and heads for the highway, hoping the road will give him a different life. Michael Steinberg follows the four people left circling one another, Beth, her friend Carol (Phoebe Cates) and the housepainter Sid (Eric Stoltz) among them, as they try to learn what they actually want from their lives.
