Bombay

Shekhar (Arvind Swamy), a young journalist raised in a Hindu family in a small village, falls in love with Shaila Banu (Manisha Koirala), a Muslim girl, and the two leave for Bombay to marry. Mani Ratnam follows them there as they raise two sons in the city, until the riots of December 1992 arrive. The danger now sits in their own home, where the boys belong to both faiths and the streets outside have started to ask which one.
