“Somewhere along a thousand miles of barbed wire border, the American dream has become a nightmare.”

Border Patrol officer Jeb Maynard (Charles Bronson) is working the line between San Diego and Tijuana when his partner Scooter is found murdered. Maynard is sure a smuggler of illegal aliens did it, while the feds insist drug dealers are to blame, so he crosses over and poses as an illegal alien himself to catch the killer. Jerrold Freedman sets the story among the laborers being moved north, where the border is a job for most of the people on it.
