Born to Win

“Their story is written on his arm. If they can get a grip on each other, maybe they can turn their lives around.”

A man called J (George Segal) used to cut hair and now spends each day working out where the next fix will come from, always with a joke ready. Ivan Passer follows him through Times Square and the Manhattan of 1971, where Parm (Karen Black) and Veronica (Paula Prentiss) pass in and out of his days. Under all the talk, the film is about a man who has one want and keeps going back to it.
