Borstal Boy

“As a prisoner of war it is my duty to escape.”

Why does a sixteen-year-old from Ireland cross to Liverpool with explosives for the IRA? Brendan Behan (Shawn Hatosy) never reaches his targets. He is caught and sent to Borstal, a reform institution in East Anglia, where Peter Sheridan puts him among English boys like Charlie Milwall (Danny Dyer). Brendan has to share a locked world with the people he came to hurt, and he has years of it ahead.
