Bottle Shock

Steven Spurrier (Alan Rickman), an English wine shop owner in Paris, flies to California in 1976 hunting for cheap bottles to set against the French classics in a blind tasting. In the Napa Valley he finds Jim Barrett (Bill Pullman) and his son Bo (Chris Pine), who are turning out chardonnay that Spurrier did not expect to taste. Randall Miller's film is about pride in a place and the people who work its land, and about who gets to decide what counts as great.
