Boudu Saved from Drowning
A Parisian tramp throws himself into the Seine, and nobody on the bank can say why. The bookseller Édouard Lestingois (Charles Granval) hauls him out and carries him home, where Boudu (Michel Simon) eats at the family table and wipes his feet on nothing. Jean Renoir sets the household's patience against the stranger's appetite, and Lestingois and his wife Emma (Marcelle Hainia) begin to wonder who has rescued whom.
