Franco Maresco (Franco Maresco) sets out to make a documentary about Carmelo Bene, the Italian actor and poet who died in 2002. Instead of archives and willing witnesses, he finds only refusals and dead ends at every turn. The more he pursues the film, the closer he gets to losing it entirely: a biography that cannot hold its subject.
