“How one man betrayed the security of a nation.”

Eric O'Neill (Ryan Phillippe) is a young FBI surveillance specialist who wants to be made a full agent, and the promotion that finally comes puts him at a desk outside the office of Robert Hanssen (Chris Cooper), a senior agent with 25 years in the Bureau. The job is not what he was told it was. Billy Ray keeps O'Neill and Hanssen in the same cramped rooms, Hanssen's door open, O'Neill's eyes on the desk.
