“The Balance of Power Is About to Change”

Maya (Pilar Padilla), an undocumented Mexican immigrant in Los Angeles, wants steady work, and her sister Rosa gets her a janitor's job cleaning office buildings, though neither is in a union. Ken Loach follows her as the abuse from her superiors piles up and Sam Shapiro (Adrien Brody), a union organizer, starts telling her it doesn't have to be this way. Rosa has a family to feed and wants no trouble with management, so the two sisters begin to pull apart.
