“Same world. Different planet.”

Patrick "Kitten" Braden (Cillian Murphy) packs up and leaves a small Irish town in the 1970s, headed for London to find the mother who left him as a baby. Neil Jordan sets the trip against the Troubles, with Kitten's sequins and lipstick moving through a country that has other things on its mind. Along the way there are lovers, bandmates and strangers to win over, and Kitten's search for a mother may cost the town and the people who raised her.
