Kate (Hazel O'Connor) is an angry young singer-songwriter who works the rock pubs of London with a band behind her and her own songs to push. Danny (Phil Daniels) signs on as her manager, and Brian Gibson, in his first feature, stays close to the rooms where she plays. Once the fame arrives, the band is squeezed out, and Kate has to stand in the spotlight alone.
