Brideshead Revisited

“Privilege. Ambition. Desire. At Brideshead everything comes at a price.”

Charles Ryder (Matthew Goode) is an Oxford student from an ordinary background, and the friendship of the aristocrat Sebastian Flyte (Ben Whishaw) lets him into a world of money and ease. Julian Jarrold follows him to the family's ancestral home, Brideshead, where he meets Sebastian's sister Julia (Hayley Atwell) and the family's devout Catholicism. Charles is bound to the brother and drawn to the sister, and neither tie sits easily beside the other.
