“Love. Murder. Revenge.”

Pinkie (Sam Riley) is a razor-carrying teenager in Brighton, hard-up and hungry for standing among the gangs, with a belief in hell he never lets go of. Rowan Joffé adapts Graham Greene's 1938 novel, putting Pinkie beside the shy waitress Rose (Andrea Riseborough) while Ida (Helen Mirren) asks questions nobody wants asked. Pinkie stands with the razor in his pocket, his thin shoulders square against everything coming for him.
