Brimstone & Treacle

“Mirror, mirror on the wall, who wreaks havoc on us all?”

A young man calls himself Martin Taylor (Sting) and says he knew the Bateses' daughter before the accident that left her unable to speak or move. Tom Bates (Denholm Elliott) lets him into the house, and Norma (Joan Plowright) leaves the care of Patricia (Suzanna Hamilton) to him. Richard Loncraine films a family already strained thin, and Patricia is the one now alone with the stranger.
