Bringing Out the Dead

Frank Pierce (Nicolas Cage), a New York paramedic, works another run of night shifts in a city that keeps handing him the people he could not save. He has called in sick and stalled on dispatch calls, trying everything to get fired, and still he can't quit on his own. Scorsese covers the two days in hard streetlight and ambulance sirens, so the nights run together.
