Broadway Danny Rose

(1984)Directed by Woody Allen84 min · PGComedy

Danny Rose (Woody Allen) is a Broadway talent manager whose small agency books a one-legged tap dancer and a long list of other acts nobody else will take. His one hopeful client is Lou Canova (Nick Apollo Forte), a washed-up lounge singer whose career is finally on the rebound. Woody Allen tells it as an anecdote traded among comedians at New York's Carnegie Deli, and the black-and-white frame holds the whole table of them, leaning in over their lunch.
