“The Finest Broadway Melody Of Them All”

A producer picks the wrong man out of a New York crowd. Johnny Brett (Fred Astaire) and King Shaw (George Murphy) are a dance team that can't get booked, and when a mistaken name sends Johnny toward Broadway's leading lady, Clare Bennett (Eleanor Powell), the partnership is no longer his to keep. Norman Taurog stages it with Cole Porter's "Begin the Beguine" underneath the dancers' feet.
