In the summer of 1963, two young ranch hands take a sheep-herding job on Wyoming's Brokeback Mountain, one of them tight-lipped Ennis Del Mar (Heath Ledger), the other talkative Jack Twist (Jake Gyllenhaal). Ang Lee follows them across twenty years, through marriages and children and long stretches apart. What began as a job on a mountain becomes the one thing neither man can put down.
