Buchanan Rides Alone

(1958)Directed by Budd Boetticher80 min · PGWestern
“DOUBLE HANGING -- DOUBLE THRILLS!”

Tom Buchanan (Randolph Scott) is a Texan riding home with enough money to start his own ranch, and he stops in the border town of Agry only to pass through. He is robbed there, then framed for a killing, which sets him against the Agry family, who run the town, among them Lew (Barry Kelley) and Judge Simon (Tol Avery). Budd Boetticher plays it out against dry ground and a wide, sun-washed sky, with one lone rider small in the frame.
