Bud Alexander (Bud Abbott) and Lou Francis (Lou Costello) are novice detectives with a new office and no clients, and they badly want a case that proves they can do the job. Charles Lamont sends them up against the Invisible Man, who is somewhere in the room, whether or not they can see him. Lou has nothing but nerve and a talent for panic, and the nerve keeps getting him into trouble.
