Bull Durham

“Romance is a lot like baseball. It's not whether you win or lose. It's how you play the game.”

Crash Davis (Kevin Costner) is a veteran catcher who has spent years in the minors, and now the Durham Bulls hire him to babysit a rookie pitcher with a golden arm and nothing upstairs. That pitcher is Ebby Calvin "Nuke" LaLoosh (Tim Robbins), and Annie Savoy (Susan Sarandon), a baseball groupie who picks one player each season, has her eye on him. Ron Shelton writes Crash as a man teaching the game to a kid who may take the career he never got.
