Edinburgh, 1828, is a city of anatomy lecture halls, and Dr. Knox (Tom Wilkinson) pays well for fresh bodies. William Burke (Simon Pegg) and William Hare (Andy Serkis) are two penniless opportunists who find the trade and take to it with alarming enthusiasm. John Landis follows Burke, a man in love with Ginny (Isla Fisher), as he keeps telling himself the next body will be the last.
