“Sometimes you have to get lost to find your way home.”

In a house where the family is already coming apart, eight-year-old Wes Firth (Jacob Tremblay) announces that he is really a Mongolian goat herder. His mother, Alise (Vera Farmiga), has no plan for this, and Jordan Roberts follows her as she carries the boy, and her own trouble, toward Mongolia to see what he means. Beneath the oddness, it's a story about how far a parent will go to believe her child.
