Butcher's Crossing

“Nature judges like a god all men that come to her.”

In the 1870s, a young Harvard dropout named Will Andrews (Fred Hechinger) heads West looking for his destiny and ties himself to a crew of buffalo hunters led by Miller (Nicolas Cage). Gabe Polsky, making his first narrative feature, follows them out in grainy light and long winter quiet. Under the hunt sits a plain question of what a man takes from the land when he has come to find himself.
