By the Sea
“When we die on the inside, the outside is left wandering dangerously by the sea.”
A distance has opened between Vanessa (Angelina Jolie) and her husband Roland (Brad Pitt), and neither will name it. They travel through France in the mid-1970s, she a former dancer and he an American writer, then settle into a seaside town and start to know the people who run its café and hotel. Angelina Jolie's film is about two people sharing a room who have stopped reaching each other, and how much that silence can hold.
