Bye Bye Birdie

“The Most WONDERFUL Entertainment EVER! EVER!”

Albert Peterson (Dick Van Dyke) is a struggling songwriter who needs one last big break, and he thinks he has found it in rock-and-roll star Conrad Birdie, who has just been drafted into the Army. His girlfriend Rosie (Janet Leigh) and his overbearing mother Mae (Maureen Stapleton) have opinions about the plan, which sends Conrad to Sweet Apple, Ohio, to kiss a teenage fan goodbye on live television. George Sidney stages it all in loud, bright color.
