In the mid-nineties, three divorced fathers meet up for their weekly custody handoffs and try to look like men who have it under control. Vic (Randy Quaid) gets treated as the villain by his ex-wife's parents, Donny (Paul Reiser) has a strained bond with his teenage daughter Emma, and Dave (Matthew Modine) has more dates than he can handle. Sam Weisman's comedy is about how a marriage keeps shaping a person's days long after the paperwork is signed.
