Pirates carry off the child Cabiria (Carolina Catena) and sell her into slavery in Carthage, where the priests mean to give her to the fire of Moloch. Fulvius Axilla (Umberto Mozzato), a Roman spy, and his strong slave Maciste get to her first, though the people who bring her out of the temple are soon pulled apart.
